RnD Services was established in 2003 by Dr. Richard D. Newman, PhD, DABT. The company provides regulatory, clinical, preclinical and strategic development support to a variety of clients in the medical field. The company has helped clients that are just getting started with a novel or innovative idea, clients that are struggling with issues in front of Regulatory Agencies, as well as clients from well established companies.

Dr. Newman was Vice President of Research and Development, Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Affairs for Baxter International's Renal Division from 1992 to 2002.  Leading a team of over 300 scientists in the United States, Japan, UK, France, Germany and Belgium they developed new drugs, biologics and medical devices on a global scale and focused on the local level.

He chaired the Drug Advertising Review Committee and the US/Japan Business Council Working Group for Harmonizing Biotechnology Regulations. This group was the predecessor to the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH).

Dr. Newman also developed and ran the largest clinical trial ever conducted by Searle at the time, with over 400 study investigators and 5 CROs/service organizations.  The 90 day study was completed within one year of initiation.

For seven years prior to Searle, Dr. Newman was with Procter & Gamble at their headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.  As a Toxicologist, Dr. Newman was responsible for a wide range of preclinical trials which included tests for mutagenicity, acute and chronic toxicity, reproductive toxicology and dermatotoxicty.  He was responsible for the human allergy testing program at P&G and developing new tests for immediate hypersensitivity.
